Lauren Furutani, MA, LMFT #90120, serves as the Executive Director and a Supervisor at Michelle Harwell Therapy. She blends her psychodynamic and relational orientation with her down-to-earth personality to bring both complexity and ease to the therapeutic space. She frequently enjoys laughter with her clients and genuinely engages them in the search for deeper understandings of themselves and their relationships.

Lauren works with teenagers as they navigate a wonderfully complex and challenging time in their social-emotional development. She helps to bolster their sense of self and supports them in finding their own mind as they cross the threshold into adulthood. Lauren is experienced in working with complex family systems, high conflict, divorce/separation, sexuality and gender identity exploration.

Lauren received her MA in Counseling Psychology from National University and BA in Psychology & Social Behavior from University of CA Irvine. She has worked in school-based settings, in residential family treatment, and in the private practice setting with teens, families, co-parents, and couples.
